Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, has announced Federal Government’s intention to establish 24 skills and innovation centres nationwide to empower Nigerians and enhance productivity.
Professor Mamman made the declaration during his visit to the Innov8 Hub in Abuja on Tuesday.
Accompanying him were Arch. Sonny Echono, the executive secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund), and various stakeholders.
The Innov8 Hub serves as a focal point for Innovation Start-up Incubation, Technology Transfer, Knowledge & Skill Impartation, Prototype Development, and Fabrication.
Currently, TETFund collaborates with Innov8 Hub to provide practical training and mentorship for Nigerian youths and academics, aiming to produce employable graduates and foster research initiatives.
Emphasising the need for equal opportunities, the Minister expressed his vision to establish 24 skills centres across Nigeria, ensuring accessibility for all Nigerian children.
