President Tinubu appoints new DG for NIMASA

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Dayo Mobereola as the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) for a renewable term of four years.

Dr. Mobereola holds a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. in Transport Economics from the University of Wales, United Kingdom and is a fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Transport, England, and its Nigerian counterpart.

Prior to this appointment, he served as the Managing Director of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) and subsequently as the Commissioner for Transportation in Lagos State.

Dr. Mobereola’s appointment follows the recent departure of Mr Bashir Jamoh.

According to Mr Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President, these efforts are under the leadership of the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, H.E. Adegboyega Oyetola, with the policies and programs outlined in the Renewed Hope Agenda for the sector.
