Q: What’s your personal experience in this sector ?
I am Abubakar Bashir, COO of Abushir group. My experience began the with my dire interest in providing services and support to other businesses. This then moved me towards diving into event management and planning, leading me to create a platform for connecting and collaboration.
Q: What exactly is Abushir all about ?
So basically, we do business management and consultancy. At the age of 22 I already had significant insight into Nigeria’s economy relating to consulting using business models and projections. For events, I typically ask clients for an overview of their event plans, thereby providing an intention, then I’ll give them a thorough summary and breakdown on budget, organization, execution and marketing.
Of course, after conducting detailed surveys and analysis. I also broker land deals and sell properties to rounds of clients with my real estate enterprise, Blackland.
Q: Do you believe our economy needs such a business model?
Obviously we do. Nigeria is a complex country blessed with human resources that must be developed and managed. We can’t keep doing the same things. Interestingly, private organizations are more efficient in executing such schemes. To me, everything that deals with provision and profit is beneficial to every economy.
Q: How can Nigeria’s youth tap into such opportunities?
Our youths are quite exceptional and incredibly talented. If you follow the stats abroad you’ll see that we are a major force in any country we find ourselves in. However, I am 25 now and to be honest, our government should invest more in youthful enthusiasm that can drive more innovation in young minds. The most important thing that drives innovation is inspiration.

In this insightful conversation with Abubakar Bashir, it is evident that there’s no limit on business services and development in Nigeria. With such dedication, it’s imperative to say, the sky is the limit.
