The Nigerian Senate has passed a bill aimed at establishing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Trust Fund.
The bill was sponsored by Senator Yemi Adaramodu (APC, Ekiti), seeking to provide a sustainable source of funds for the NYSC, skill acquisition, training and empowerment of corps members, training and retraining of the personnel of the scheme, development of camps and NYSC formations and facilities.
Sen. Adaramodu while speaking with newsmen after the bill’s passage assured that if signed into law, the NYSC Trust Fund would function transparently and efficiently.
