The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has confirmed the escape from lawful detention of Nadeem Anjarwalla, a suspect in the ongoing terrorism investigations into the activities of Binance, a cryptocurrency exchange company.
In a statement on Monday in Abuja, Mr Zakari Mijinyawa, Head, Strategic Communication, ONSA, established that Anjarwalla escaped on Friday.
He said ONSA has taken immediate steps to apprehend the suspect.
According to him, the security agencies were also working with Interpol for an international arrest warrant on the suspect.

Mijinyawa clarified that the Nigerian government has been investigating money laundering and terrorism financing transactions perpetrated on the Binance currency exchange platform.
Sources confirmed that Anjarwalla holds British and Kenyan passports and he is also Binance’s Africa regional manager.
Preliminary investigation shows that Anjarwalla fled Nigeria using a smuggled passport.
“We urge the Nigerian public and the international community to provide whatever information they have that can assist law enforcement agencies apprehend the suspect,” Mijinyawa said.
