President Tinubu to attend Senegal’s Faye inauguration

President Bola Tinubu has disclosed that he will attend the swearing-in of Senegal’s President-elect, Bassirou Faye.

The President said he will depart Abuja on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, for Dakar, Senegal, to attend the inauguration.

This was disclosed in a statement by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, titled ‘President Tinubu to attend inauguration of Senegal’s President-elect Bassirou Faye.’

“He will join other regional leaders to witness the inauguration at Diamniadio Exhibition Centre on Tuesday,” said Ngelale.

On the trip, the President will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and other senior government officials, with his return to Nigeria, expected at the end of the inauguration.

Senegal is the fifth African state President Tinubu will be visiting since assuming office 10 months ago, and his 17th foreign destination.
