The two executives of Binance held as guests of the Nigerian government since arriving in the country in February, had sued the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and the Economic Financial Crimes Commission for violating their fundamental human rights as reported on Friday 29th March.
Tigran Gambaryan, head of financial crime compliance at the world’s largest crypto exchange,Binance and Nadeem Anjarwalla, regional manager of the platform for Africa, filed separate suits, urging the Federal High Court in Abuja to direct the agency to return their passports and issue a public apology.
Recall that two executives were charged alongside the company earlier this month with various counts, especially of terrorism related offenses.
At a hearing earlier, as the agencies were absent, the court adjourned the trial until April 8th.
The suits are; FHC/ABJ/CS/356/24 and FHC/ABJ/CS/355/24.
