A total solar eclipse is taking place on Monday, April 8, 2024, visible across North America, especially the US.
Reports say that it will be visible from a 115 mile-wide band that stretches from the western coast of Mexico, through the US, and up to Canada’s easternmost province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
What is a solar eclipse?
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, leading to obscuring the image of the Sun for viewers on Earth.
In a total solar eclipse, the sky will darken on either dawn or dusk.
Also, when the Moon blocks the Sun, the subtle corona becomes visible distinctively.
