APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje suspended over alleged corruption

The Ganduje Ward Executive Council in Kano State has made a bold move, suspending Mr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This decision was concluded from persisting corruption allegations, particularly concerning a widely circulated video allegedly showing Mr. Ganduje receiving bundles of dollars as a bribe.

The Executive Council which was led by Haruna Gwanjo, issued a statement about the suspension during a press briefing in Kano. The video, which surfaced in 2017, triggered significant controversy and investigations, despite Ganduje’sdenial and insistence on innocence.

The case is NOW being revisited and rectified by the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) administration under Governor Abba Yusuf. Ganduje faces charges related to bribery, diversion, and misappropriation of funds, including allegations of accepting $413,000 and N1.38 billion in bribes.

The Kano High Court is set to indict Ganduje on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, along with his wife and six others. The Yusuf administration is prepared to present 15 witnesses to testify before Justice Usman Na’aba of the State High Court in what promises to be a high-profile legal battle.
