Nigerian Grammy-award winning singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has landed himself a position on Time Magazine’s list of 100 most influential people for 2024.
The Time Magazine usually does an annual compilation, recognizing and celebrating exceptional individuals across the world, emphasizing on their contributions in various aspects.
The different categories on the list are; Titans, Innovators, Pioneers, Artistes, Leaders, and Icons.

Burna boy, alongside Angelique Kidjo, the legendary singer, were placed with the title of an ‘Icon’.
According to Kidjo’ tribute on the Time website, Burna boy has made African music a global reality.
“Burna Boy’s deeply original flow and his signature groove have conquered the world with an impressive series of firsts: in 2023, he became the first African artist to sell out a U.S. stadium, and in 2024, he became the first Afrobeats artist to sing at the Grammys.
“He is history in the making. Now a whole generation of young people from the continent is looking up to him.” Kidjo, the Grammy decorated singer wrote.
