I killed my sugar mummy over N100,000 — Suspect says

A man has been arrested in connection with the tragic murder of Mrs. Glory Akpaku in Akpoveta School, Delta State. In an investigation video shared by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, the suspect narrated how he allegedly committed the crime by stabbing the victim multiple times.

The suspect revealed in the video that Akpaku, whom he referred to as his “sugar mummy,” was the victim. He disclosed that a dispute arose between them over a sum of N100,000 that he had entrusted to her for safekeeping but was refused when he needed it urgently.

According to the suspect, tensions escalated when he demanded the money from Akpaku, and she insisted on returning it after a trip to the market. Threats were exchanged between them, with the suspect threatening to expose their relationship to Akpaku’sson if she didn’t comply. In response, Akpaku warned that she would withhold the money if he did so.

Fueled by anger, the suspect admitted to stabbing Akpaku in the neck, hand, and stomach with a knife during the confrontation.

Showing remorse, the suspect attributed his actions to the influence of the devil.

In response to the confession, Edafe emphasized the importance of learning from such tragic incidents.

Regarding the timeline of events, Edafe mentioned that the incident occurred in April and assured that the suspect would face legal charges once the investigation is completed.
