The Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, has said that the best form of government is democracy, calling on all parties in the country to work towards strengthening democratic governance.
The governor said this in while addressing citizens on the occasion of Democracy Day on June 12, 2024.
“Celebrating the 25th Democracy Day is a testament to the fact that democratic governance is firmly rooted and enduring in Nigeria. There is no better alternative to democracy, which allows people to choose their leaders and determine their governance.
“It has been a year since my re-election, which signifies the confidence the people of Bauchi State have in our administration.” He said.
Sen. Bala emphasized that there’s a need to sustain and improve our practices, pledging continued cooperation with security agencies and commitment to infrastructure and human capital development.
“We have re-strategized to faithfully justify the confidence reposed in us by providing more dividends of democracy. I humbly appeal for your continued support as we strive to make Bauchi State a place we all can be proud of”. He said.
He further noted that his administration is committed to accountability and transparency, combatting all forms of corruption, hardships and ensuring use of resources for development.
