Northern Irish golfer, Rory McIlroy has dismissed his divorce from wife Erica of seven years, announcing that the pair have resolved their differences.
A shocking news had emerged on May 13, when McIlroy filed of divorce, which is also the day he won the Wells Fargo Championship for the fourth time.
However, the court papers served in Florida on Tuesday show dismissal of the petition titled, “Notice of voluntary dismissal” with the status, “closed”.
The golfing champion while looking upbeat, declined to comment on the situation during the US PGA Championship, highlighting a little bit of significant changes.
“There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumour is a fool’s game.
“Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.” He said.
Rory and Erica married in 2017 at Ashford Castle, Ireland and had a child together in 2020.
Rory McIlroy is a Northern Irish golfer. He surpassed Tiger Woods by being the only person to win the FedEx Cup three times.
Mcllroy is one of three players to win four majors by the age of 25.
