Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) popularly called petrol is currently selling at the black market as high as N1,300 to N1,500 per litre in parts of Lagos and Ogun states due to the recent scarcity in the commodity.
According to the latest report, long queues have returned to petrol stations couple with scarcity in some parts of the country.
Meanwhile, the NNPC has stated that the scarcity is as a result of a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels around the country.
“The NNPC Ltd wishes to state that the tightness in fuel supply and distribution witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT is as a result of a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels,”
Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the NNPC, Olufemi Soneye, said.
The apex petrol institution assured that efforts were put in place to “resolve the situation and restore normalcy in the operations.”
