Nigeria Police arrest journalists covering protest in Abuja

The Nigerian Police has arrested about seven journalists covering the #EndBadGovernance protest in Abuja, on Saturday.

One Mr Ayoola Babalola, a journalist with Souk TV, revealed the incident through his WhatsApp status at 12:33 p.m.

The post included that the security operatives took the journalists to the Wuye Police Station, where they are currently being held.

“I’ve been arrested, Comrades. I’m being held at Wuye Police Station. We are standing our ground and not releasing our devices.

“I’m being held with Comrade Samuel Victor and five others.” He said.

As the nationwide protest continued, security personnel fired shots at a vehicle conveying journalists and hunger protesters, signaling that the protesters should leave the Federal Capital Territory.
