Following the nationwide protests, President Bola Tinubu will address citizens in a broadcast message on Sunday.
According to a statement from the presidency, Television, radio and other media outlets are expected to tune into the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) for the broadcast on August 4, 2024 at 7:00 am.
This comes after backlash and criticism stemming from institutions and concerned Nigerians, insisting that the President must speak to citizens and listen to their voices.
The nationwide protest which began in August 1, themed ‘EndBadGovernance’ was held across parts of the country.
