Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party Presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi has criticized the current administration’s Coastal road projects.
In a statement shared on Monday via his social media channels, Obi noted the need for an immediate review of the Coastal road project, redirecting attention towards the numerous internal road projects across the country that are in dire need of rehabilitation.
He highlighted the importance of focusing on projects that would directly impact the economic growth and living standards of citizens on a daily scale.
Obi expressed concerns over the gross misplaced priorities of the government, citing hazards posed by incomplete infrastructure to both safety and regional connectivity.
He further urged the government to allocate resources towards the restoration and completion of existing infrastructure before embarking on new projects, pointing out fiscal discipline and strategic allocation of funds as a necessary measure to development.
In his conclusion, Obi restated significance of prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of all citizens.
