NCAT seeks approval to initiate drone training

The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria has requested an approval from Mr. Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, to initiate drone training.

Mrs. Stella Nwankwo, Assistant Chief Planning Officer, NCAT, revealed this on Wednesday during the visit of Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, to the college’s stand at the ongoing 4th Drone Technology Conference and Exhibition, organised by the convener of Nigeria Aviation (NIGAV) at Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos.

Mrs Nwankwo stated that the college had made all of the essential preparations for the commencement of drone training, stressing that the college had trained instructors to ensure a smooth transition of the course at the college.

She listed the six NCAT schools, stating that the institution offers part-time Post Graduate (PGD) programs in aviation management in Lagos and Abuja, as well as Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) engineering courses in Zaria.

Responding to the recent development, Meribole called on the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to fulfill all requirements by processing the certification that would enable the college to begin drone training for interested parties.
