Has Obasanjo finally endorsed Tinubu ? Did he wear the signature cap ?

Just a few days after social media was in a brouhaha as former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was seen wearing a Yoruba native cap with the popular Tinubu’s cap emblem.

President Tinubu is known for his signature cap, which he has worn since he became Governor of Lagos state in 1999.

What does wearing the cap mean ?

The cap isn’t just a fashion accessory or clothing aesthetic, it is well regarded as sign of political affiliation, indicating loyalty and commitment.

It’s often a significant factor in passing a political agenda or message.

Mostly, anyone who wears the cap has outrightly implied that he is in the Tinubu-train.

However, it is important to note that the design on the former President’s cap, which he wore to attend an event at Afreximbank Annual Meetings in the Bahamas, doesn’t look exactly the same as the ones on President Tinubu’s caps.

In the 2023 Presidential election, it was well visual and evident that Chief Obasanjo endorsed Peter Obi of the Labour Party, criticizing the results of the election that produced Tinubu as president.

Additionally, it has been reported that the former President paid a courtesy visit to the wife of the President on Monday. This has again, birthed reactions on social media, with Nigerians concluding on speculations even after the First Lady’s media aide confirmed that the visit was in the spirit of the Eid celebrations.

In all ramifications, this isn’t enough evidence that Obasanjo had finally endorsed Tinubu or dumped Obi.
