Southeast Labour Party house of assembly members join calls for Nnamdi Kanu’s release

The Labour Party caucus of House of Assembly members in the South-East have extended their voices to the recent demands for the release of leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who has been detained by the Department of State Services (DSS) since 2021.

The legislators in a five-point communique issued in Awka on Saturday, stressed that the release of Kanu is significant to the current security situation bedeviling the South-East region.

The communique was signed by Jude Umennajiego, Kingsley Udemezue, Chidimma Mbachu, Nkechi Ogbuefi, Justice Azuka, Harrison Ogara, Eze Gabriel, Malachy Onyechi, Raymond Ugwu, Fred Ezenwa, and Osita Okoh, representing the Labour Party in the South-East House of Assembly.
