As the nationwide protest against bad governance continues, Nigerian security operatives have dispersed protesters and journalists from the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja using gunshots.
According to reports, the protesters and media personnel were targeted by security forces.
On Friday, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi had mourned the death of multiple people who participated in the nationwide protest.
While paying tributes to the victims, he urged security personnel to maintain civility and ensure safety to the public, including the protesters.
“I also call on the security agencies to remain civil in their security of lives and property in the ongoing protests.” He stressed.
