It is with great pleasure and gesture, which shows enormous sacrifice, and outstanding leadership, although not surprisingly, I had a conversation with the quintessential figure, Nze Fidelis Ozichukwu Chukwu, who is also known for his consistency and dedication to marching words with action.
Nze Fidelis Ozichukwu Chukwu was National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South East zone, for eight years.
He is a national leader of the party and a member of the Imo Elders Council, the very much diligent political leader, with his usual candour, has always maintained that Nigeria is blessed with potentials.
The political icon outlined that the essence of government or governance is to provide a melting pot of expertise, skills, competences, contacts and values.
Also a man with utmost respect for his identity, Nze Ozichukwu has always stood by Igbo values and principles, especially in relation to national unity and conscience.
Nze Ozichukwu, for Rotation and Zoning joined the NPN in 1978 and then for the same reasons, joined NRC and later joined the PDP.
On the 24th of March, 2022, He wrote to the PDP and warned on the burdens of and the anaesthisation of conscience.
A native of Imo state, just as I am, Nze’s numerous contributions to the growth and development of the state can never be overstated or underestimated.
In my encounter with this progressionist is an authentic case of utmost respect and desire for the greater good.
He has always maintained that “Democracy is a culture, it is deliberate and should not be impromptu. It should not be left dormant or destitute. Like the phoenix, it should drive its ideals with zeal.” It’s so obvious that he is more like a visionary with in depth precision and understanding of the dynamics of nation building and government.
Indeed Nigeria is blessed with exceptional individuals, therefore, Nze Ozichukwu as a quintessential citizen, is obviously something worthy to take notes of.
